Fans spent an age waiting for Frank Lampard to be announced as the new manager, however, the wait is finally over after he was announced as manager on Thursday morning.
Despite the long wait, Chelsea fans seemed to see the funny side of the saga after a Twitter user tweeted out a ‘picture’ of what Lampard currently looks like after being confirmed as manager. It was a picture of the former England star’s father, Frank Lampard senior and fans reacted with hilarity to the tweet.

Lampard started his career in the same way as his father, joining West Ham United’s academy, and then going on to make 161 appearances for the club, before transferring to Chelsea in 2001.
