However, Monday’s news will have livened up the fans’ summer after it was officially announced that Mason Mount had signed a new five-year contract at the club.
Mason reacted by reminiscing at his long spell at Chelsea, alluding to how old he was when he joined the club. Fans were in a great mood, with many praising the youngster.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Derby County under the new Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, as the Rams reached the Championship playoff final.
Mount had an influential spell at Derby County, scoring 11 goals and assisting a further six.
