Another one of Chelsea’s perennial loan figures could be about to leave Stamford Bridge, only this time, permanently. Football Insider report that Premier League newcomers Norwich City are chasing winger Kasey Palmer’s signature this summer with Frank Lampard’s side wanting £4m. The news doesn’t bother many Chelsea fans in the slightest with most wanting to see the 22-year-old gone.

Palmer was once one of the club’s most promising stars and entered the first-team fray under Guus Hiddink. Since then, Palmer is yet to appear for The Blues’ senior team and has gone out on loan to four different clubs, the highest level of which was at Huddersfield in the 2017/18 Premier League campaign. Palmer spent last season with Championship side Bristol City who narrowly missed out on the playoffs.

The young winger was part of a big Chelsea contingent over in the West Country with Tomas Kalas and Jay DaSilva also on loan with The Robins. Palmer made 34 appearances, scoring five goals and assisting just once.

Not many at Chelsea would see the departure a real loss with one supporter quick to say they should take the money and run which was backed up by another who wondered why he was in Japan with the first-team squad instead of more deserving academy prospects.
