It is rather odd to see Chelsea linked with a player whilst under a transfer ban but that’s exactly what has happened. The Telegraph report that Chelsea are weighing up a bid for Wilfried Zaha that would bring him to the club next year after their transfer ban has come to an end – the news has left many fans over at Stamford Bridge confused with many hoping it doesn’t happen.

The Crystal Palace ace has been wanting a move to London rivals Arsenal but the two clubs appear to be some way off in their respective valuations of the player with Roy Hodgson’s side demanding a huge £80m for the winger. That’s nearly double the budget Arsenal boss Unai Emery supposedly has to operate with, which will be even less now the club have signed both William Saliba and Dani Ceballos.

Lots of Chelsea fans don’t appear to be best pleased with one member pleading that he hopes it never happens whilst others question whether the club even needs him and that it isn’t wise to pay a big amount of money for a player who is already 26. Another supporter brandished the 10-goal star overrated with one fan echoing that by saying there are ten wingers that they can get that are better, also calling him a dribble merchant.

Zaha’s last move to a club other than Palace ended in him being deemed a flop after he struggled to make much of an impact at Manchester United – going out on loan three times before re-signing at Selhurst Park.
