According to German tabloid Bild, Bundesliga outfit Fortuna Dusseldorf will sign Chelsea’s Lewis Baker for the 2019/20 campaign on loan – leaving a number of Chelsea fans wondering what the midfielder is actually doing with his career.

Baker’s only ever first-team appearance was a three-minute cameo as a substitute in the FA Cup back in January 2014. The 24-year-old has endured six temporary spells away from Stamford Bridge meaning by the time he reaches his 25th birthday he will have been out on loan seven times.

The central midfielder had also been a regular at international level with England playing from the under-17s to the under-21s and even won the Golden Boot at the 2016 Toulon Tournament. However, his career in West London clearly hasn’t gone to plan with him unable to fully break into the first-team setup.

The news has left many fans wanting the perennial loan figure to be sold with one fan claiming his moment with the club has gone which was backed up by another supporter saying that Baker was a player he thought would’ve broken into the first team a long time ago.

Others begged, for his own sake, to sell him with one fan saying that the 24-year-old had been living out of a suitcase for years so it would be nice to sell him so he can finally unpack his bags.

Here’s the best of the reaction from Chelsea supporters:
