Everton are still in the market for a centre-back and following the failed pursuit of former loan ace Kurt Zouma, they could be about to go back to Chelsea to sign another defender in the form of Fikayo Tomori.

The Standard report that Marco Silva is keen on taking the England Under-21 international on a season-long loan this season. Their move for Zouma ended earlier in pre-season after it was revealed the Frenchman was set to be part of Frank Lampard’s first-team plans.

Many Chelsea supporters see the potential loan move of Tomori as a positive.

One member of the Stamford Bridge crowd said it was a win-win situation for both clubs with another claiming that Everton are such a good club for player development, saying he would take it all day long.

Tomori enjoyed a successful loan spell under his current boss Lampard when they were both at Derby County last season where he played 47 matches in the Championship. Though, it is thought that he wants the 21-year-old playing at the highest level possible this coming season so a return to Derby is rather unlikely.

Others pleaded that Everton take the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater off them too – one even suggested that it was a good move for Tomori and he wouldn’t be upset if it were a permanent move.
