A number of Chelsea fans have made it clear on who their choice is at left-back this season by responding to Emerson Palmieri’s latest training update on Twitter. The 24-year-old put up a picture of him in action, captioning it “another day in Japan, another training session concluded,” to which many fans gave their support.

The Italian international joined the club in the 2018 January transfer window for a fee believed to be £17.6m from Serie A side Roma. Emerson featured 27 times for The Blues last season – primarily in the Europa League, scoring once and assisting two goals. Although, he hasn’t featured much for Chelsea, fans deem him good enough to be their starting left-back this coming season above Marcos Alonso.
One supporter claimed that if he keeps up the good work then surely he will be preferred at left-back whilst others simply called him “my left-back,” throwing their weight fully behind the Brazilian-born fullback.
Another fan even went as far as saying that Emerson will be the best left-back in the Premier League next season, which is quite the statement. One member of the Stamford Bridge faithful gave him some advice, to simply cross to Giroud and to work hard.
