Chelsea have seemingly delayed any announcement of Frank Lampard becoming their new manager, and it has set off former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan, who is fuming.
What’s the word
The former chairman Jordan appeared on TalkSport, and let rip at Chelsea over what he calls ‘arrogance’ from the Premier League club over their chase of the Derby County manager.
“The attitude Chelsea are exhibiting is one of arrogance.” ????
“Lampard went to Derby and achieved no more than anyone else has…
…all the changes will be unwound and out the door he will go!” ???? @SJOpinion10 slams the current situation between #CFC & Lampard ???? pic.twitter.com/FFtPBxfBAK

He believes Chelsea have deliberately delayed any deal agreement with Lampard due to a lack of caring about Derby County. Jordan also said he believes Lampard would fall over at the chance of managing Chelsea, another reason for the club’s arrogance.
He said: “The attitude Chelsea are exhibiting is one of arrogance. Chelsea know Frank Lampard is going to hop and skip through their door anytime they click their fingers.”
“We’re going to pay you £4 million, we don’t need your permission.”
Chelsea aren’t disrespecting
With Derby County yet to even finalise an agreement with replacement manager Phillip Cocu, to say Chelsea have disrespected Derby County by not agreeing a deal is going too far. For Chelsea to go ahead and finalise and announce a deal for Lampard would be far more disrespectful than anything Jordan has accused Chelsea of in my eyes.
As well as the lack of a replacement for Derby County, it has been well noted that Lampard has been on holiday following Championship side’s run to the play-off final. This was confirmed by Derby owner Mel Morris who appeared on TalkSport to confirm the delay in the deal.
