With Kovacic close to joining Chelsea, it seems some rival fans can’t stop laughing at the rumoured price tag the club are said to be paying for the Croatian.
According to the BBC, Chelsea are reported to be paying £40 million for the 25-year-old, and it seems Manchester United fans find that funny.
One Manchester United fan took to Twitter after the fee was revealed, and started comparing him to their Brazilian midfielder Fred, who he claimed had a better season statistically than Kovacic.
Chelsea paid more for Kovacic than Manchester United did for AWB.

Unluckily for this Manchester United fan, he was factually incorrect. Overall, Kovacic contributed the same amount goals and assists to Chelsea’s season (2), as Fred did for Manchester United (2).
