With Chelsea suffering from a lack of a stable defence, especially in the centre-back region, you’d think fans would be a bit more shocked to news about losing an experienced player for the beginning of next season. However, you’re quite wrong, as fans seemed to be unmoved about news regarding Antonio Rudiger.
According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are fearful of losing the German international for the beginning of next season, with Rudiger himself unwilling to rush himself back from injury.
However, with players like Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori returning from loan spells, Chelsea fans feel they’re more than covered to deal with the loss.

There’s no reason to believe either Tomori or Zouma could fill the gap. While Tomori enjoyed a successful loan spell at Derby County reaching the Championship play-off final, he has only featured once for Chelsea in the Premier League. Whereas, Zouma, who has an abundance of top-level experience, was part of an Everton defence that conceded a mass 46 goals in the Premier League.
Here is a selection of tweets from Chelsea fans who believe Tomori and/or Zouma could be the answer:
This is not a fear! We have zouma. Next.
