After being frozen out by Maurizio Sarri, Danny Drinkwater is reportedly targeting a return to first-team action under possible new manager Frank Lampard, that is according to the Sun.

Drinkwater endured a torrid time under former boss Maurizio Sarri, making a grand total of one appearance for the Blues, a 30-minute appearance in the Community Shield.
Drinkwater signed for Chelsea from Leicester City in the summer of 2017 for a fee of around £35 million. However, he’s struggled for consistency since joining the Blues, making only 23 appearances in two years at the club.
It seems the reports of the 29-year-old targeting a return hasn’t gone down well with fans, who are less than pleased with a potential return to the first-team for Drinkwater.
