With Eden Hazard gone, you can forgive fans for being sceptical about Chelsea’s hope next season. Hazard was the magician that most of Chelsea’s play went through last season, as he scored 21 goals and assisted a further 17 as Chelsea romped to a won the Europa League in the 28-year-olds last ever game for the club.

In January 2019, Chelsea signed Borussia Dortmund man Christian Pulisic for a fee reported to be £57.6 million. The move proved to be a replacement for Hazard, who has since swapped Stamford Bridge for the Bernabeu after an £88 million move to Real Madrid.

Pulisic is currently away on international duty with the United States, playing the Gold Cup. Chelsea fans reacted joyously after the club’s official Twitter account tweeted about the American international’s performances in the country’s 6-0 over Trinidad & Tobago.

It seems fans are excited at seeing the 20-year-old feature at Stamford Bridge next season, however, the question remains, can Pulisic fill Hazard’s boot next season?

Here is a selection of tweets from fans, who were excited following Pulisic’s performance at the Gold Cup:
