Well, he looks to be on his way to  Stamford Bridge, however, Chelsea fans had more than just Frank Lampard’s seemingly imminent appointment to celebrate on Thursday morning.

Frank Lampard is celebrating his birthday, and Chelsea fans joined in with the celebrations sending the legend their good wishes.

According to the Sun, Lampard is close to joining Chelsea as their new head coach after the exit of former boss Mauricio Sarri to Italian champions Juventus.

The appointment of Lampard would complete the ultimate homecoming for a man who is the west London club’s, all-time record goalscorer. Lampard played a mammoth 604 games for Chelsea, scoring 209 goals and assisting a further 150.
