Chelsea took to Twitter to wish former defender Alex a happy birthday. It seems the tweet was full of Chelsea fans who wished the Brazilian well, after his eight long years at the club.
Chelsea signed Alex for a fee of £5 million from Brazilian club Santos, back in the summer of 2004. Alex enjoyed a good five-year career at Stamford Bridge, winning one Premier League title and two FA Cups during his stint. However, Alex will always be known to Chelsea fans for his brilliant free-kick taking ability, with his free-kick again Middlesbrough in 2008 a highlight in the Brazilians goal-scoring.
