Chelsea’s path towards Premier League glory has been determined – but fans seem less than hopeful of a positive year.

Anticipation over the first opponent of the year is often the main talking point as supporters count down the days before the football season restarts this summer.

And that could not be truer after Chelsea were gifted an early trip to Old Trafford on the opening day in the standout fixture upon the Premier League’s return in August.

Without knowing who will lead them into the new campaign and no players to reinforce the squad, some fans are anxious over the kick-off – including those pleading for Maurizio Sarri to stay at Stamford Bridge in light of Chelsea’s tricky start.

The Blues calendar also includes facing Spurs and Arsenal over the Christmas period, with an intriguing stretch of home games in early 2020 that sees them take on the North London duo either side of their return fixture against Manchester United.

Ending the year with some intimidating away trips – including against European champions Liverpool – and a home match against last season’s surprise package Wolves, these fans are approaching the new campaign with some caution, with potential hiccups placed throughout their 2019/20 roster:
