Just when you thought this story had run out of legs, out come some more interesting reports from the Chelsea camp.

With Maurizio Sarri all set to move to Turin and manage Juventus, the Chelsea hierarchy have been searching for a successor before they can finalise his departure.

And if reports are to be believed, Chelsea may just be about to trap Sarri’s foot the right side of the exit door (well, depending what side of the debate you’re on) – and fans are as divided as ever.

Having not settled on an heir to the Chelsea throne, the club are apparently preparing to persuade the Italian to stick around – despite his future all but agreed.

The prospect of Sarri prowling the Stamford Bridge dugout for another season has exposed the division within the Blues fanbase over his premiership, with fans sending out mixed messages in light of this dramatic potential U-turn.

With the club in limbo as another campaign approaches, supporters may be thankful that transfer business is not on any manager’s to-do list in the near future – but that hasn’t stopped the fans from finding something to argue about as the off-season (and this Sarri saga) drags on:
