If you thought it was impossible for Chelsea fans to be happy with some transfer activity this summer, think again.

That’s because Chelsea are set to finally offload a player who has been on their books since 2014 – and for a decent fee, too.

Mario Pasalic has never even made a first-team Chelsea appearance, but after five loan spells away from Stamford Bridge, the Croatian is thought to be making his temporary move to Atalanta permanent.

Reports in Italy suggest that the Serie A club, who have qualified for next season’s Champions League, are happy to exercise their option to buy the 24-year-old for a reported €15m (£13.3m).

And for a player bought for just £2.25m five years ago, it would represent a decent profit for parent club Chelsea – and fans are impressed by the club’s business.

Praise has come in for transfer chief Marina Granovskaia – who has something of a reputation for pulling off deals in this vein, as the club cash in on the £9m-rated midfielder.

In a summer where transfer deals have done little to get fans excited, these supporters seem pleased that the club can still pull off impressive deals while incomings remain at a standstill:
