Turkish giants Galatasaray are the latest club to join the hunt for Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, according to A Spor.
The veteran defender sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expire at the end of the season, where he would then become available on a free transfer, but a lack of first-team opportunities under Maurizio Sarri have led to a growing likelihood he will push for an exit when the window reopens, which could spark a frenzy in the market.
Cahill, also a target of Aston Villa and Southampton, is seen by Galatasaray as their number-one target to bolster a defence which has seen 30-year-old Maicon struggle so far this term, dropping down the pecking order as a result.
Galatasaray, regulars in the Champions League, would allow Cahill to continue playing in Europe’s elite competition but it remains to be seen if the 32-year-old would be keen on leaving England to move to Eastern Europe.
