Chelsea will fight it out with Real Madrid for Lyon attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir, according to L’Equipe (via TEAMtalk).

The French publication reports that the French international could command a fee of up to €75million (£66m). The 25-year-old almost moved to Liverpool in a summer for a deal worth €60m (£53m) but the move fell through.

Fekir has responded to the failed transfer with a good start to the season, with three goals and two assists in six appearances.

His goal and overall performance against Manchester City a couple of weeks back in a Champions League group game showed off his talents to observers in this country, and it seems he is on a mission to prove himself.

Chelsea were believed to have been offered Fekir last summer after the move to Liverpool collapsed, but Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas revealed back in August that the Blues turned down the chance to sign him.

If the report from L’Equipe is true, then it appears they have changed their minds.
