Eden Hazard is set to become the Premier League’s highest earner as Chelsea fend off the interest of Real Madrid, according to The Daily Express.

The 27-year-old has been in spectacular form this season, scoring seven goals and contributing three assists in just nine games, but that has led to increased interest in his services from European champions Real Madrid.

Los Blancos were heavily-linked with the services of the Belgium international in the summer after Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus but a move did not materialise – and Real have since performed woefully under new boss Julen Lopetegui, leading to an increased likelihood of them going all-out in the January transfer market.

Hazard has entered the final 18 months of his current deal at Stamford Bridge but Chelsea are prepared to raise his wages to a staggering £350k-a-week to keep the former Lille man at the club as he continues to be the star man in Maurizio Sarri’s side.
