Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has vowed to return from his loan spell at Valencia a better player, stating he is not interested in a permanent move to the Spanish club.

The Belgian international moved to the Mestalla on a season-long loan back in August, and the La Liga side have an option to buy the forward, but the 24-year-old is looking to return to Stamford Bridge next summer. In an interview with the Times, he said:

“No (I’m not looking for a permanent move). I’ve so much respect for Chelsea and I love them. This loan is important for my development, to show how good I am so that I can go back to Chelsea a better player.”

Batshuayi performed well out on loan at Borussia Dortmund last season. The striker hit the back of the net nine times in 14 appearances for the Bundesliga club before an ankle injury ended his campaign prematurely.

However, after arriving in Valencia, the Belgian initially struggled to get a first-team place. However, on his first league start, he bagged his first goal and was also in the starting line up for the 1-0 win over Real Sociedad at the weekend.
