Chelsea are looking to sign Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek in the January transfer window, according to CaughtOffside.com.

The Polish international has been in sensational form in Serie A this season, having already scored eight in just six league matches.

However, his most notable performance came in the Coppa Italia back in August when he bagged all four goals in the 4-0 win over Lecce.

Piatek only signed from Cravovia in the summer for €4m, but he has reportedly been scouted by a number of Premier League and Serie A clubs.

Caught Offside report that Liverpool, Manchester United, Everton and Leicester City, as well as the likes of Napoli, Juventus and Roma, have been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old.

Yet, Chelsea are believed to be the first to contact Genoa about buying Piatek. Italian media reports suggest Genoa would hold out for at least €40m (£35.6m); ten times what they paid for the player back in July.
