Chelsea have offered a new contract to midfielder N’Golo Kante to fend off reported interest from French champions Paris Saint-Germain, The Mirror reports.
Kante was a key part of France’s World Cup-winning squad during the summer and has caught the eye in the Premier League during recent campaigns, standing as a driving force behind the successes of both Leicester City and Chelsea.
His fine form has led to continued interest from PSG, who want to bring the 27-year-old back to his homeland, and that has led Chelsea to spring into action – despite the fact his current deal still has three years left to run.
Kante’s importance to the Blues has continued during the initial months of Maurizio Sarri’s spell in charge at Stamford Bridge, standing as an ever-present figure for Chelsea after making ten appearances across all competitions.
His only goal for the Blues this season came in a routine victory over Huddersfield Town on the opening weekend.
