Chelsea are keen on making a January swoop for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to the Corriere Dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com).

The Blues were interested in signing the Italian international during the summer but a move didn’t materialise. However, the transfer could be revived when the transfer window reopens.

Calciomercato.it report that contract talks between Rugani and Juve have stalled, and that could lead to Chelsea making a bid for the centre-back in January.

The London club’s transfer business may not stop there, though. The Corriere Dello Sport believe that, in addition to the Italian defender, they are also actively pursuing Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek after his blistering start to the season in Serie A.

The Polish international has scored 12 in just seven games in all competitions and could be just what manager Maurizio Sarri needs to spearhead a title challenge.

Alvaro Morata has scored just once, while Olivier Giroud has yet to hit the back of the net for the Blues so far this season.
