Chelsea are looking set to beat Premier League rivals Manchester City and Tottenham in the hunt for 15-year-old midfield talent Sam Lautenschulz, according to The Sun.

The teenage Volendam midfielder has also attracted interest from Leicester City and Charlton Athletic but it is Maurizio Sarri’s side who currently lead the chase for the young Dutchman.

A decision on the 15-year-old’s future is expected this month and Lautenschulz could still remain in Holland, as Eredivisie giants Ajax have also expressed an interest to bring to teenager to their esteemed academy.

Lautenschulz would become the latest in a long line of European talents to move to West London to join Chelsea, who boast plenty of fine players coming through their production line but the Blues have often been criticised by failing to hand first-team opportunities to their academy graduates.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who impressed for England at the World Cup and on loan with Crystal Palace last season, has since earned just 33 minutes of action since his decision to stay at Stamford Bridge this season.
