Chelsea are battling a number of Premier League rivals for the services of Genoa forward Krzysztof Piatek, according to CaughtOffside.

The Polish striker has enjoyed a sensational start to the season after scoring eight goals in six Serie A matches for the Italian side, while a brace earlier in the season in the Coppa Italia has put the 23-year-old as the first player in Europe to hit double figures in 2018-19.

Signed as a relatively unknown player for his homeland in the summer, Piatek has since become the name on everybody’s’ lips and Chelsea face stiff competition in the market as Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, Leicester and Wolves have all scouted him this term.

With interest in his services rising, CalcioMercato stated this week that Genoa value the forward at a whopping £35m but that figure could rise if a bidding war is sparked in the transfer market.

Chelsea are eyeing Piatek as a quick fix to their striking ranks as Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have scored just once between them this season.
