Chelsea are confident of securing a new deal with Eden Hazard before Christmas that will be in excess of £300k-a-week, The Daily Mail reports.

Hazard has attracted long-term interest from Real Madrid and recent reports suggest that the Spanish giants will make a fresh approach in January after a slow start to the season has struggled to see them cope following Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus.

The Belgium international has admitted he is keen on a future move to the Santiago Bernabeu but Chelsea are determined to retain his services and want to secure him to a fresh deal as he approaches the final 18 months of his current contract.

Hazard has excelled this season, scoring seven goals in eight matches, and his comments prior to the international break has seen the Blues rise in their confidence of retaining the 27-year-old World Cup semi-finalist.

The winger turns 28 in January and a new deal with the Blues is likely to be his the last big contract of his career.
