Chelsea are one of four teams pursuing Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Italian website reports that the Blues will be joined in the race for the 18-year-old by Juventus, Roma and Inter Milan.
Tonali can play in a number of positions. During his time in Brescia’s youth setup, he played as a right winger, a holding midfield player, a central midfielder and a number 10.
He played the majority of the 16/17 season in Brescia’s Under 17s as an attacking midfielder, scoring 11 goals in 24 appearances. Following his impressive displays in the youth ranks, he made the step up to the senior side last campaign.
However, during his 19 appearances in Serie B in the 17/18 season, Tonali mostly played as a holding midfield player. He has also played exclusively in that role at the start of this campaign.
Blues manager Maurizio Sarri may see the Italian Under 21 international as a regista, in the same vein as Jorginho.
