Chelsea ace Eden Hazard has warned it is too early to talk about potentially winning the Premier League this season after the Blues rose to joint-top of the standings.

Maurizio Sarri’s side eased past Southampton on Sunday to move to the top of the table on a temporary basis and their position as joint leaders was confirmed after Liverpool and Manchester City faced off in a later kickoff.

The results mean that all three sides enter October’s international break tied with 20 points at the top of the standings, narrowly above North London pair Arsenal and Tottenham – both of whom have 18 points.

However, despite Chelsea enjoying an unbeaten start to life under Sarri and avoiding defeat across all competitions since losing the Community Shield clash with Pep Guardiola’s Citizens, Hazard has stated it is too early to talk about snatching the crown off the Sky Blues.

“It’s too early to be thinking about the title – we know it is tough to win. But it is good to be up there.”

Chelsea face a stern test in two weeks time against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, then hosting BATE Borisov in the Europa League before clashes with Burnley and Derby County at the end of the month.
