Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata scored only his second goal of the season against Vidi in the Europa League last night.

Manager Maurizio Sarri is hoping it can be a new start for the 25-year-old who has struggled for form since his arrival from Real Madrid in 2017 for £60m.

A lot of fans on Twitter remain unconvinced that the goal will prove to be a turning point for Morata:

Others feel that the player does have the talent to make it at Chelsea:

Although Morata did score last night, he also missed another gilt-edged opportunity, shooting wide after being put through on goal, with many questioning whether the player is just a poor finisher, rather than just lacking in confidence.

Still, his two goals this campaign is still two more than Olivier Giroud. Despite the Frenchman’s good link-up play with Eden Hazard, the 31-year-old has yet to get off the mark so far this season.
