Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek had a very good game against Vidi in the Europa League yesterday evening.

The England international was given his first start under Maurizio Sarri and played the first 66 minutes before being substituted for Ross Barkley.

Fans on Twitter were very happy with Loftus-Cheek’s display:

Some want Sarri to pick him ahead of Barkley:

Loftus-Cheek has struggled for fitness at the start of this season with a foot injury he sustained whilst on England duty hampering his game time.

Now back in full training and raring to go, the 22-year-old is looking to make up for lost time. He will be hoping his start against Vidi will be one of many under Sarri this season.

However, there is fierce competition for a place in the starting line up with the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Cesc Fabregas, N’Golo Kante and Jorginho all competing for just three spots in the first eleven.
