Chelsea will loan out Ethan Ampadu during the January transfer window, according to Calciomercato.com.

The 17-year-old has impressed playing for Wales during the international break, but it appears Blues manager Maurizio Sarri doesn’t believe he is ready for the first team just yet.

Ampadu, who can play at centre-half as well as in midfield, has not featured in a matchday squad so far this season under the Italian.

However, some fans would have hoped that his performances for Wales would have persuaded the Chelsea boss to offer the teenager more game time.

After his arrival from Exeter City in the 2017 summer transfer window, Ampadu was given his first-team debut by Antonio Conte last September in the Carabao Cup third round tie against Nottingham Forest.

The Welshman then went on to make a further six appearances for the Blues, including making his league debut against Huddersfield Town in the 3-1 away win back in December.
