Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri faces a stern test in the coming days to prepare his squad for his first Premier League season campaign.

The Blues have so far signed Jorginho to bolster their midfield ranks but are chasing further deals late in the transfer window and could also witness a number of departures from the London Stadium.

Amongst those tipped for an exit is England international Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who is linked with another spell away from the club on loan after impressing for Crystal Palace last season and forcing his way into Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.

A return to Selhurst Park looks to be on the cards as Football.London shows that the Premier League may have jumped the gun with an announcement of Loftus-Cheek’s second spell on loan with the Eagles.

22-year-old Loftus-Cheek is seeking first-team assurances after starring for the Three Lions and the signing of Jorginho has handed him further competition for a spot in midfield.
