Chelsea have undergone significant changes this summer under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri, with the biggest change occurring between the sticks.
Thibaut Courtois forced through a move to Real Madrid and Chelsea splashed a world-record bid to secure Spain international Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao, who made his debut in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Huddersfield Town.
It was not the most testing game for the 23-year-old but he has caught the eye of former Chelsea stopper Asmir Begovic, who tipped Arrizabalaga to lead the Blues squad for years to come. Speaking to TalkSport, he said:
“So he’s definitely been on the scene for a little while. That’s just the way the market is going. Some prices are being thrown around and this is the price of doing business these days.
“From Chelsea’s view, this is a long-term move. It’s a seven-year deal and he’s at a great age so I think this is someone Chelsea can really build around for many years to come.”
