Chelsea continue to push towards changes in their squad despite the Premier League transfer window closing last week, as the Blues intend to take advantage of the European window.

Clubs on the continent have until the end of August to complete their business in the market and Maurizio Sarri has made a decision on the future of a forgotten man at Stamford Bridge, as he is keen to offload Danny Drinkwater.

The Daily StarĀ says Sarri has decided the former Leicester City man is surplus to requirements after a disappointing first campaign at Stamford Bridge after signing from the Foxes last summer, struggling to earn consistent opportunities in Antonio Conte’s final season in charge.

Following the captures of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic, Drinkwater has plummeted down the pecking order in west London as he faces competition with the two new arrivals along with N’Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
