Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri looks set to continue his raid on Italian football, with the former Napoli boss looking to add further recruits to his squad ahead of the new season.

The Blues have already lured Italy international Jorginho in from Napoli and The Evening Standard states their eyes have now been cast on Inter Milan’s Matias Vecino, with it claimed Chelsea have opened talks regarding a deal for the midfielder.

Uruguay international Vecino played under Sarri during the duo’s time at Empoli and the new boss is keen for him to join Jorginho in the heart of his rejuvenated Chelsea side, as he does not fancy Danny Drinkwater or Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The report claims Chelsea used their friendly against Inter Milan on Saturday, won 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, to enquire about the services of the 26-year-old, who is said to be valued at around £31m.

Inter may be willing to offload Vecino following their capture of Radja Nainggolan from Roma.
