New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has less than a week to finalise his squad for his debut campaign in the Premier League and appears to be ready for war.

The Sun states the Blues have entered the running for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish and are looking to secure a £20m deal for the England U21 international from under the noses of London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been heavily linked with the services of the 22-year-old, with Aston Villa open to a sale in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations – having taken a hit this summer after failing to secure promotion last term.

While Villa are keen to retain the services of their academy graduate, a deal for Chelsea could be on the cards – although their fight with Spurs could drive the asking price for the seven-cap England U21 international much higher.

However, Villa are keen on Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham and that may provide incentive for the club to complete a deal with the Blues.
