Chelsea have been handed an encouraging boost ahead of the final few days of the transfer window, with a star player ruling out a departure.
Brazil international Willian has been widely linked with an exit, with Manchester United and Barcelona interested in his services, but the South American star is ready to snub the advances of those clubs in order to remain at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s Community Shield clash with Manchester City on Sunday, where the Blues lost 3-0, Willian ruled out a transfer when speaking to reporters.
“I’ve always told him I’m really happy playing for Chelsea. I’ve never talked about leaving the club.”
Willian fell out with former boss Antonio Conte last season but provided six goals and seven assists in 36 Premier League appearances, with his creativity showing considerable improvement to the previous term where he registered just two assists.
Capped 62 times for Brazil, the 29-year-old provides a wealth of experience to Chelsea in the final third.
