Chelsea are under new guidance from Maurizio Sarri and have already seen a number of changes occur at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues utilised the transfer market to bring in Kepa Arrizabalaga, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic but pre-season saw other players catch the eye, including young prodigy Callum Hudson-Odoi.
17-year-old Hudson-Odoi impressed in the draw with Arsenal in Dublin, where the Blues lost on penalties, before earning a starting spot for the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City at Wembley two weeks ago.
A breakthrough season could now be within the grasp of the teenager and he has been tipped by fellow Blues starlet Jonathan Panzo to emulate France’s World Cup-winning star Kylian Mbappe at Stamford Bridge.
Quoted by The Sun, the young defender said of his team-mate:
“Callum was one of the best players at Chelsea when I joined. When we got a bit older it was him and me who used to play up out of our age group with the older boys.
“He’s gone back there doing his thing an earned his place in that squad. He’s a decent player and he can become an even bigger player than he is now.
“He is maybe a little like Mbappe with his speed and dribbling.”
