Premier League side plot new deal to fend off Chelsea’s interest in star

Chelsea are set for a busy end to the summer transfer market as Maurizio Sarri looks to rejuvenate his side in the final weeks of the window.

The Blues have recruited Jorginho from Napoli but are under serious threat of losing a number of key players to some of Europe’s biggest sides, including first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Belgium international Courtois, who won the Golden Glove in the World Cup in Russia, is heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and could be encouraged to make a move by the fact his young family still lives in the Spanish capital.

Chelsea have reportedly targeted England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as a potential replacement but will face a fight to secure a deal, as The Times states Everton are seeking a new deal for the former Sunderland man in order to secure his future.

Pickford caught the eye for the Three Lions at the World Cup, playing a key role in the nation’s surprise charge to the semi-finals.
