Chelsea are expected to be extremely active in the final weeks of the transfer window as Maurizio Sarri looks to rejuvenate the side he inherited at Stamford Bridge, which is likely to lead to a number of departures.
Widespread reports indicate the Blues are ready to offload both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud this summer, as Sarri seeks new attacking additions, and Sky Sports reports that the latter has attracted interest from LaLiga.
Atletico Madrid are stated to be pursuing a loan deal for the France World Cup winner as they seek to partner the experienced striker with compatriot Antoine Griezmann, rejuvenating Les Bleus’ partnership from their success in Russia.
Giroud joined Chelsea from London rivals Arsenal in January in pursuit of more first-team opportunities and scored three goals in 13 appearances, winning the FA Cup after beating Manchester United at Wembley in May.
