Chelsea are set for widespread changes in the final weeks of the transfer window, with new boss Maurizio Sarri looking to rejuvenate a squad that vastly underperformed in the Premier League last season.

A number of players struggled at Stamford Bridge last season, including Spain striker Alvaro Morata upon his transfer from Real Madrid and the Blues are actively seeking to offload him this summer – but it will cost a large sum.

Sky Sports report that Chelsea have informed AC Milan that they will have to pay £62m for the 25-year-old, after the initial negotiations regarding a switch got underway earlier this week with the intention of bringing the former Juventus man back to Italian football.

Morata cost a reported £57m when he arrived from the Spanish capital last summer but scored just 11 goals in 31 Premier League appearances before losing his spot in the second-half of last season to Olivier Giroud, who arrived from Arsenal in January.
