Chelsea have been made to wait in the transfer market due to the drawn-out saga concerning their managerial position but changes within the squad are expected following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri.

The former Napoli boss faces a stern test in the battle to retain the services of key players and The Daily Mail states the Blues hierarchy will meet with this week to discuss a potential £65m move taking Willian to Barcelona.

29-year-old Brazil international is keen to leave Stamford Bridge after falling out with Antonio Conte last season and has attracted interest from Manchester United, though Chelsea would understandably prefer not to sell to a direct rival.

A final decision on whether to accept Barcelona’s move for Willian is yet to be made but Roman Abramovich has made it clear any funds raised from the sale would be handed to Sarri to reinvest ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Barcelona’s bid for Willian is their third so far this summer, with Chelsea rebuffing their previous advances.
