Chelsea’s new boss Maurizio Sarri has a stern task ahead of him as he looks to prepare his side for the 2018-19 Premier League campaign, as a number of high-profile departures are poised to take place.

Belgium duo Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois are both widely linked with a move to Real Madrid, which has left Chelsea in the market for a new goalkeeper to play as first-choice.

While it has been a difficult window for fans to cope with, positive news has emerged from Football Italia, who cite reports claiming that Chelsea remain in the fight for Roma goalkeeper Alisson alongside Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The Daily Mail states Roma are ready to play hardball in negotiations for Alisson as they are under no financial obligation to sell the Brazil international following the sale of Radja Nainggolan to Inter Milan and Liverpool’s capture of Mohamed Salah has left the Rome-based side bitter.

That could work in Chelsea’s advantage as they seek to hijack a move for the World Cup stopper, although their lack of Champions League football may be an issue.
