Chelsea’s managerial situation remains precarious but fans could finally see the end of the saga this week, with the Blues looking to tie-up their future.

Speculation surrounding the future of Antonio Conte has been rife since before the club’s FA Cup success and, despite victory over Manchester United at Wembley, the Italian boss is likely to be axed ahead of the new season.

Chelsea have long had former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri as their prime candidate to take charge at Stamford Bridge but have found difficulties negotiating a deal with the Italian side – despite the fact they have already named Carlo Ancelotti as his successor.

TalkSportĀ state a deal is on the horizon though as Chelsea want a new manager appointed before Monday 9th July when pre-season training begins for the west London side, although the club’s heavy hitters are unlikely to return for a number of weeks due to their World Cup involvement.
