Chelsea are looking to rejuvenate their squad following a disappointing season last term and new manager Maurizio Sarri is eyeing a raid on Italian football.

The Blues have already confirmed the capture of Italy international Jorginho, beating Manchester City in the hunt for the highly-rated midfielder, and are now ready to battle the other side in Manchester for a World Cup star.

Corriere Dello Sport indicate that Chelsea are ready to go head-to-head with Manchester United for the services of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who has become one of the most sought after talents in European football.

The 23-year-old caught the eye once again with his performances for Serbia at the World Cup and has been heavily linked with both United and Real Madrid, although Chelsea are preparing to throw a spanner in the works.

Lazio want around £115m in a player-plus-cash deal, with it suggested that Spain ace Cesc Fabregas could be offloaded at Stamford Bridge to make room for a new arrival.
