Chelsea’s overhaul is well underway and another loan departure is set to go ahead next week, according to Sky Sports.

21-year-old midfielder Kasey Palmer is set to join Blackburn Rovers on-loan until January to help the former Premier League champions in their first campaign back in the second-tier following their promotion from League One last term.

Palmer spent the second-half of last season on-loan with Derby County, now managed by Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, and it was widely reported that the midfielder would rejoin the Rams for the forthcoming season.

Instead, Palmer’s move to Blackburn should see the talented midfielder earn a significant amount of playing time and the chance to prove himself to Maurizio Sarri or any other Premier League side.

Palmer has further experience in the Championship following his time with Huddersfield Town in 2016/17, when the Terriers sealed a surprise promotion to the top-flight under the guidance of David Wagner.
