Chelsea are set for a stern task in the coming weeks as they seek to land a replacement for Thibaut Courtois, who is widely reported to be set to land a move to Real Madrid.
The Champions League winners have until the LaLiga transfer deadline on 31st August to secure a deal, whereas Chelsea have just three weeks remaining in the market to land their ideal replacement for the Belgium international.
According to The Evening Standard, the Blues have added AC Milan’s 19-year-old star Gianluigi Donnarumma to their shortlist after missing out on Brazil international Alisson, who secured a world-record move to Liverpool on Thursday.
Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel is also on Maurizio Sarri’s shortlist and is a player who would cost significantly less than Donnarumma, who AC Milan value at an incredible £58m.
There is interest in Arsenal’s Petr Cech, a Chelsea legend, and the Blues are also fans of England hero Jordan Pickford – although they understand luring him from Everton a year after his £30m switch from Sunderland will be extremely difficult.
