Chelsea look set to finally secure the services of former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge as a replacement for Antonio Conte and will play catch-up in the market with their rivals.

The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool have already completed major additions in the transfer market and Sarri is looking to waste no time with his own activity, already eyeing targets for the Blues.

Italian outlet MediaSet Premium, cited by FootballItalia, state Sarri has made Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino a prime target for when he takes charge in west London.

The 26-year-old Uruguay international, currently on-duty for his nation at the World Cup, is seen by Sarri as the ideal addition to his midfield ranks – and he may not be the only Inter man switching the San Siro for Stamford Bridge.

It is also claimed that Sarri wants to reunite with Inter’s assistant manager Giovanni Martusciello, who he worked with previously at Empoli, and could bring him in to work as his number two.
