Chelsea are desperately seeking the acquisition of a top class striker in the summer window and have received significant encouragement from one of their prime targets.

Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain has been widely linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with Alvaro Morata potentially heading in the other direction, and the Argentina international has dropped a huge hint towards a transfer.

Speaking to ESPN, he said:

“I have a contract with Juventus and no one has communicated anything different. I’m very calm, my soul stays in Turin for now.  But I would love to play in the Premier League, it fascinates me a lot.”

Chelsea would have to pay a vast amount of money to lure Higuain to English football, with Juventus reportedly demanding around €60m for the experienced South American forward.

Higuain is currently preparing for the World Cup in Russia and any final decision on his future is unlikely to take place until after Argentina’s involvement.
